Questions

What is Tondro Spark Virtual?

The online format of Tondro Spark. Each session takes one subject in one region and covers it in an hour on Zoom, with a briefing, a live demonstration in a working org and time for open questions.

Why does this matter for UAE universities?

UAE universities are evaluated on outcomes, and several indicators touch short credentials directly, such as the share of graduates who earn micro-credentials, licences or recognised certifications, and the credit hours delivered with industry. The route for a credit-bearing unit runs through programme accreditation, Short Learning Units in the national qualifications framework and the National Qualifications Centre. Most institutions already issue micro-credentials, but fewer can show how they stack, carry credit and appear in the data the evaluation uses.

Who is this session for?

Registrar, continuing and executive education, quality assurance, institutional research and student systems teams at UAE universities and colleges.

What is a stackable credential?

Two definitions are in use. US federal guidance describes a stackable credential as part of a sequence of credentials that can be accumulated over time. The 2022 EU Council Recommendation defines a micro-credential as the record of learning outcomes from a small volume of learning, and treats stacking as optional. In the UAE, the national qualifications framework recognises Short Learning Units as partial qualifications. In practice, a credential stacks when a receiving programme has a written rule for accepting its credit.

Which outcome indicators does the session cover?

The share of graduates who obtain micro-credentials, licences or recognised certifications, the credit hours in courses co-developed or co-delivered with industry, participation in work placements, and graduate employment within 12 months, including employment in relevant roles.

How much of the hour is a product demonstration?

One part of it. Tondro shows one pathway live in Salesforce Education Cloud. The rest of the hour is the UAE briefing, a short introduction to the Madrid forum, and open questions.

What do I receive after the session?

The session slides, and a map of the outcome indicators that micro-credentials and stackable pathways affect, with how multi-year averages delay their effect.

How does this session relate to the Madrid forum?

This session covers the UAE. The Stackable Credentials Forum in Madrid on 9 December compares credit rules across 13 systems and is built around design work on attendees’ own programmes.
